Projects in Progress
The Living Room
The Worship Center will be a gathering place for Newton and surrounding communities. It has already been used by Salvation Army for their annual Christmas giveaway of toys, food, and coats. It has hosted Newton City Wide Prayer Day and other community events.
Once completed, classrooms will be used by Celebrate Recovery and Community Corrections, who already meet in our building. It will also be the location for our Tuesday and Friday night worship and Wednesday night Bible study. Our desire is for this space to be used for 24-hour prayer to impact our city and nation.
The center will have a main sanctuary, with the capacity to seat 150 people, and two large classrooms. Equipped with a kitchen, laundry room, restrooms and showers, it could be utilized in a disaster or other emergency situation. We hope this will be a place for the community to meet on common ground!
Restoration Place
Currently we have 15 beds for men. Many of those men are re-entering after incarceration, starting over, wanting a clean/sober environment, and working on a program toward recovery from addiction. Whether employed or on disability, they contribute to the mission financially, helping with utilities and daily needs.
The second group home we hope to have on another floor of the Dwelling Place will have 10 rooms for 15 men. These men will be selected from the current group of men living in the basement area.
This wing will be a community- living environment with five single rooms and five double rooms. Each room has its own sink and restroom. There will be a common space for the men to fellowship together, a community kitchen, laundry area and shower room at the end of the hall.
If you feel called to partner with us on this project with your gifts, talents or finances, please don't hesitate to call or just drop in for a visit and tour! You may also adopt a room to furnish.
